Citizens for the Charles County Public Library, Inc. (C4CCPL)
is a non-profit, all volunteer group dedicated to expand public awareness and support for the Charles County, Maryland, Public Library system.
Our chief fund-raising activity is the operation of the C4CCPL Used-Book Store, located on the lower level of the La Plata Branch Library, 2 Garrett Avenue, La Plata MD 20646.

The Used Book Store is normally open from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
every Saturday that the library is open.
When you come to visit,
bring your donations with you!
(We do require that they be in bags or boxes.)
We accept hardcover and paperback books, books-on-tape, books-on-CD,
music CDs and cassettes, and movies on DVD and VHS videotape.
Volunteers will assist you with heavy bags or boxes.
Donations are
$$TAX DEDUCTIBLE $$!
If you would like a tax receipt, please count how many of each category
(paperbacks, hardbacks, DVDs, etc) you have brought for donation.
Park your vehicle in the lower driveway, ring the doorbell
and we’ll provide a cart and volunteer to assist you.
Sorry, but we cannot use the following items:
Magazines or Textbooks
Reader’s Digest Condensed Books
National Geographic Magazines
Encyclopedias older than 5 years
Books with mold or mildew
Phonograph Records
WHO WE ARE
Citizens for the Charles County Public Library, Inc. (C4CCPL) is a non-profit, all volunteer group dedicated to expand public awareness and support for the Charles County, Maryland, Public Library system. With membership support
from the community, we assist the library in many of its endeavors. C4CCPL sponsors activities, raises funds, and promotes the library as a cultural, educational, informational and recreational asset to Southern Maryland. The funds raised by our activities
help supplement the library's budget by purchasing items not included in their operating budget by Charles County. Since our inception in June, 2002, we have provided more than $58.000.00 in funds to the Charles County Libraries.
C4CCPL recently provided funds for:
Outreach Services Kits to use in programming to seniors.
Support of the pre-school story times at all three branch locations.
Publicity for the library in Image magazine.
Expansion of the Spanish Collection at P. D. Brown Library.
Special expenses for transition to the new software system, SIRSI.
Shelving units for P. D. Brown Branch Library in Waldorf.
A large DVD storage unit at P .D. Brown Branch Library.
Printing Bookmarks.
Six carts/book trucks.
Funding of student projects.
A Document/Image Scanner for each branch.
Funding for new CCPL website design.
Purchasing Spanish language instructional sets for Waldorf and Potomac Branches.
Expansion of the Books-on-CD collection at La Plata.
Printing promotional bookmarks for all branches.
T-shirts, prizes and special performances for Summer Reading Programs each year.
A Local Author Reading at Potomac Branch.
Promotion and Advertising.
A new subscription to "Book Page" for all branches.
Laminating Machines and Film.
A New Reference Desk for Potomac Branch Library.
A New Circulation Desk for P.D. Brown Library in Waldorf.
New Interior Digital Signage for all three branch libraries.

The Citizens also gave the J librarians $500 to purchase a Wii and accessories and some game cartridges. We purchased a Wii console, 4 Wii remotes, Band Hero game bundle, Mario Kart and Wii Play games. They have been much appreciated by the teens who come to the teen gaming night.
